maybe one of the 8 contests can not focus on just speed... y'know the Compet-N is not just about the ol' strafe skills... /
edit: sorry, I guess that sounds like sour grapes.  Deleted2 was not just about speed... perhaps a tyson or -fast heat would be more fair to a broader range of players.  sorry for the first post... life never rolls my way.

Is it possible to run straight to the lift and to take the Rocket Launcher AFTER lowering it (and of course to hurt yourself, to take the armor and to get the lift in time)? I think this would be a bit faster.
(Please don't ask me to try it myself. I got only a 0:31 yet and would be happy about 0:29.99

Yes. About five people figured this out indepdently now, so I uploaded a demo using it to save everyone the bother. . Method is to hit the switch, grab the RL, and do a rocket jump off the green armour platform. Saves...well...according to Sedlo 0.8s, I reckon it's more like 0.5.

I doubt it... it's just too quick at the end.  if the route allowed the grab easier... then maybe.

I did play with doing a grab on it after getting the CG, but I think Opulent's right - if you get the end properly (this is hard...) it's quicker than grabbing it earlier.

I have noticed that a couple of demos miss out one rocket launcher (but I can't seem to get it either!). It is located in the northern room inside one of the pillars.

Yeah, it seems getting the hidden rocket launcher is so luck-based that Adam H. decided to not require it (notice the list on the contest page says "2 rocket launchers").
