I trying to play the original doom .exe on my windows xp computer and i wont even open, it just flicks onto the cmd.exe for a milisecond then automaticly switches off. So i have two questions for this.
1: Is there a way to fix this?
2: If not, are there any ports that compet-n allow, such as doom95.exe.
doom won't work.

Try launching it from the command-line and see if it displays some errors.I trying to play the original doom .exe on my windows xp computer and i wont even open, it just flicks onto the cmd.exe for a milisecond then automaticly switches off. So i have two questions for this.

Re: doom won't work.
I've tryed the command prom and the sme thing happened. I tryed compatability mode win 95, didn't work. I even chaged the function exit on finish unchecked, and all that opens is a blank cmd window. What am i doing wrong? do i need dosbox to run it?.

Re: doom won't work.
Start-> Run
enter 'cmd' (without the quotes) (this will open a dos emulation window)
cd to your Doom directory and type
doom2.exe -nosound
What happens?
