In case some people wonder if I am really a zamel, they have
to know that Doom isn't for zamels :) Oh, and Vincent said in his form "I'm french so my
english sucks" .. well, his english may suck but his nationality has nothing to do with
it ! For exemple, I am ( half ) french but my english is OK .. at least I think so :)
2. DOOM-related information

Your DOOM config (key bindings, controllers):
Well, I know this is quite unusual, but I use default keys for keyb ( Crtl for down though ).
Sure this isn't the best config possible, but I have been too much used to it and couldn't
change my (bad) habbits. This gives me horrible weapon changing ( " Oh yeah, that's why he
doesn't play maxkills !" :) As for the mouse , left button is fire, right one is forward.
I have a pII 350 , 128 Mo, 16 Go of HDD, intellimouse.
Size of DOOM directory on your HD:
hehe .. really a nice question :) 470 Mo atm ... it is really
messy there, many souls have got lost :)
First contact to COMPET-N (when, how etc.):
Well, I think Holyjack ( a friend of mine ) gave me the link
to the DHT page in late 98.. at this time, D1M was the hardest thing on earth for me :)
As I tried "harder and harder" titles, I started to watch some demos to get inspired, and
found the cdrom.com archive. Later ( in late 99 ), I mailed Vincent about my window jump
in lv29, and in his reply, he gave me the link to the compet-n site :)
First COMPET-N demo:
An awful p4m2-041 ... I improved it to 29s, then 26, and was
very happy .. but just before the update, the "newbies terror" ( are you reading this
AdamW ? :) got 19s .. BAM ! Welcome to compet-n, man :)
Favourite COMPET-N demo(s) from yourself (the one(s) that you're most proud of):
Well, I don't really like my demos ( except when I have just
made them :) ... Those which I think to be ok are pn18-013, n4m2s026 ( AdamW beater at
this time :), the end of pl21-037 .. maybe some others :) Not compet-n : n4o30894 ,
cause I had beaten both AdamH and AdamW :)
Favourite COMPET-N demo(s) from others:
A lot :) Every 30nm or 30uv, speed entry from the great players
( AdamH, Henning, Vincent, Anders and Sedlo for exemple ) Demonlord's tyson stuff, Yonatan's
smooth style, Anthe's nightmare stuff. Some maxkills like lv07-046 ( I don't like long
max demos ). I've watched Vincent's 30famax some days ago and loved it too.
I enjoy pacifist style a lot ( p1m5-114 for ex ).
Favourite DOOM or DOOM2 map:
Udoom: e4m2, e4m6. Doom2: map14, map29. I like almost all of
the originals levels ( especially Udoom ep4 and doom2 )
Favourite TC/megawad:
I rarely enjoy playing megawads .. some are really good though: Plutonia of course, HR ...
but THE BEST of them, the one which will stick you on your seat, which will bring you to
the player's orgasm is .. Alien Vendetta !!! ( Anders, we'll discuss about how much you owe
me later, ok ? :)
Do you like Quake?
Didn't play much, but liked it.
What do you think of DOOM now?
Why would I be spending hours and hours on a bad game ? :)
Doom is the BEST GAME EVER, and none of its clones are close from it in fun !
Anything you want to add here:
The #nightmare regulars know that I have to stop playing doom
because of my studies next year which will be very hard. If I could, I would play doom
for the rest of my life, but you can't always decide of what you do :( So, now you will
read AdamH's comments, 2 lines saying something like : "This Zamel player made us laugh when
being beaten all the time, and it's sad that he quits doom, cause we would have like to see
more demos from him, so as to beat them again !" Maybe I should say something nice about
him, so he'd be nice too .. ok, so: AdamH, you are a god for me, you are one of the best
players ever, keep on dooming and impressing us, and keep running the compet-n site. Oh,
and you can expect lv07-045.zip in incoming the 14/06/2001 (this was a private joke :)

This Zamel player made us laugh..... uhm..... hey, wait! That's not what I wanted to say...
Selim was a really nice player at COMPET-N both skill-wise and personally, it's a real
shame he couldn't spend more time with us. If you want to see quality stuff from him,
I strongly suggest watching his Plutonia Experiment demos, where he showed off his skills
in virtually every category (speed, nightmare, pacifist and so on). If you don't have
this fine megawad (doh!), then have some of his E4M2 demos for some evening programme.
