First contact to COMPET-N (when, how etc.):
In 1995 I was one of the first leaders of compet-n. At that time I wasn't aware of the compet-n competition. In those days I contacted Simon and got to know that he collected doom-demo's so I improved almost every demo, on my 386-40.
First COMPET-N demo:
I think it must have been an e1m1-UV-max demo, but ten times as slow as today's record. I couldn't move as fast as i do now. (surprise:) My key configuration consisted only of mouse and arrows. The only UV-max record that wasn't mine was E3M6, my computer was too slow.
Favourite COMPET-N demo(s) from yourself (the one(s) that you're most proud of):
My E3m7 UV-max 2.35, which is as fast as Jan Endre's. Mainly because I think it's very hard to time below 2.30.
Favourite COMPET-N demo(s) from others:
E1M1 UV-max 32 seconds by Yonatan Donner, but mainly because of his non-compet-n hell revealed map 32, Mostly Harmful, time 05:08. Awesome! When i get rid of my 486-100 i will try this one.
Favourite DOOM or DOOM2 map:
I have to think hard, maybe map 10 of doom2. But next month it could be another one.
Favourite TC/megawad:
Hell revealed definately, the harder the better. I have played this one in Coop-mode a lot.
Do you like Quake?
When I buy a new computer, I'll try Quake and then I'll know. The frame-rate has to be high. The thing I learned during improving my skills at Doom is the faster the computer the greater the fun.
What do you think of DOOM now?
The game of the century...... (1999 included) .... and beyond. It's strength is it's simplicity and ofcourse the ability to time demo's.
Anything you want to add here:
I am not a doom-god, but via hard work and lots of tries I can get a reasonable time. I sometimes get the idea that a record is pure luck, i.e. something rare happened which set the record. I want to congratulate the one, who invented strafe-running-jumping over a distance that can't be done "normally". A marvelous trick. And ID thx, man.

Eelco is probably the only player who was there at COMPET-N's birth and is still around. A real COMPET-N monster, Eelco was leading COMPET-N in its early days (he lead all categories). He disappeared for a while as Demonlord & Co. took over the records, but recently he came back and showed his skill in some maxkills stuff. He now owns a really nice and fluid style, capable of doing just about anything.
